Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily personal care to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support mealtime and feeding needs while encouraging resident independence
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and home-like environment for residents
• Document care and observations accurately and timely in resident records
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• GNA certification is required; equivalent certification (e.g., CNA) may be considered
• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting older adults with mobility and activities of daily living
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and any facility-required health checks
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required) or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused assistance
• Skill in safe resident handling and mobility support techniques
• Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with basic infection control practices
• Clear and compassionate communication with residents, families, and staff
• Comfortable with basic electronic or paper charting and documentation
