Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as scheduled), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
Provide safe, attentive care during evening shifts and communicate changes in resident condition
Support mobility and transfers, following facility protocols to ensure safety
Document care activities accurately and report observations to nursing staff
Help create a comfortable, respectful environment that promotes resident well-being
Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care and support facility goals

Qualifications

Current GNA certification or completion of an approved GNA program
Comfortable working evenings and adapting to per-diem scheduling
Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful demeanor
Ability to pass required background checks, TB screen, and drug screening
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic geriatric care and ADLs
Ability to follow care plans and document accurately
Infection control and safe hygiene practices
Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Time management and reliable attendance for scheduled shifts
