Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Pk, Maryland
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Day shift (evening hours)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in resident charts and communicate care updates
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Comfortable working evening shifts and flexible per-diem schedule
- Compassionate communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic geriatric care and ADL assistance
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Infection prevention and OSHA-compliant practices
- Strong observational skills and clear communication with nursing team
