Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Take and record vital signs and promptly report any changes to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers, ambulation and range of motion exercises
• Help with mealtime assistance and ensure safe feeding practices
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate observations clearly to the care team
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen and TB testing as required
• Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care needs
• Skill in taking and accurately recording vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control, safety and hand hygiene protocols
• Ability to assist with mobility, transfers and safe patient handling
• Compassionate communication with residents, families and the care team
• Basic charting and documentation proficiency
