Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, days vary, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote independence and prevent falls
- Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report any changes to the nursing team
- Document care activities accurately and timely to support continuity of care
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive nutritional help when needed
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Prior experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Safe lifting and transfer techniques
- Basic vital signs monitoring and reporting
- Infection control practices and proper hygiene
- Accurate documentation and effective communication with the care team
