Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (days vary), day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting daily living activities
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility needs
Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
Document care accurately and timely in resident records
Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
Follow infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM per diem shift
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Ability to pass background check and any facility-required screenings

Knowledge & Skills

Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe resident handling
Documentation and charting accuracy
Familiarity with geriatric care needs and dementia-friendly approaches
Good observational skills and ability to escalate concerns appropriately
Time management and the ability to multitask during busy shifts
