Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging exams (X-ray and fluoroscopy) with accuracy and attention to patient safety.
• Operate C-arm and other imaging equipment in the OR and clinic settings, following manufacturer guidelines.
• Follow department and radiologist protocols to ensure high-quality image acquisition and documentation.
• Practice radiation safety and adhere to ALARA principles at all times.
• Verify exam orders, confirm patient identity using two identifiers, and provide clear procedure education.
• Obtain and document relevant medical history and informed consent; ensure prior studies and paperwork are complete.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation, including charge capture for procedures and supplies.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service calls when needed to minimize downtime.
• Assist with clerical tasks, phone reception, and patient transport when required to support smooth clinic operations.
• Help train and cross-train imaging staff; participate in departmental quality and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program required.
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Must complete Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment; age 18+ (21 for driving roles).
• Preferred: prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT, MRI, DEXA, or Mammography.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• ARRT (R) registration
• BLS certification (current or obtained within 90 days of hire)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in diagnostic imaging and image acquisition for X-ray and CT
• Experience with fluoroscopy, C-arm use, and OR imaging workflows
• Familiarity with radiation safety, ALARA practices, and safe patient handling
• Comfortable with PACS, RIS/HIS, and EHR documentation and charge capture
• Troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating maintenance
• Patient education, informed consent processes, and solid communication skills
