Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, respectful direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
  • Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
  • Assist with safe patient transfers, mobility, and positioning to protect patient dignity
  • Observe and document patient condition, behavior, and care provided in the chart
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
  • Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to support patient care plans
  • Respond calmly and effectively to patient needs and urgent situations

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (California)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
  • Successful background check and drug screen per facility policy
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks required for patient care
  • Previous CNA experience preferred but dedicated, trainable caregivers are encouraged to apply

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
  • Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
  • Basic charting and documentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
  • Reliable time management and the ability to follow care plans
  • Understanding of infection prevention and patient safety practices
