Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Start Date: 07-14-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM with on-call requirements (5-6 shifts every 8 weeks, including weekends)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in a variety of complex surgical procedures including total joint arthroplasty, multi-level spine fusions, and Da Vinci Xi robotic cases (GYN, Colorectal, General)
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for each unique procedure
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team to ensure smooth, efficient operations
  • Handle instruments with precision and care, passing them to the surgeon as needed
  • Monitor and maintain sterile technique throughout the surgery
  • Assist with patient positioning and transport as required

Qualifications

  • Must hold current NBSTSA certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a scrub tech in an operating room setting
  • Hands-on experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic system required
  • Proven expertise in orthopedic total joint replacement, neuro, and spine surgeries
  • Ability to take call and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile technique
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR system is a plus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support fellow team members
  • Adaptability to handle a wide variety of procedures across multiple specialties
