Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
- Provide direct patient care including vital signs, ADLs, and basic comfort measures
- Support safe mobility and transfers, following proper body mechanics and protocols
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records
- Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies at all times
- Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver quality care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Active CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain)
- Valid state nursing assistant registration/license for California
- Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and comfort measures
- Vital signs monitoring and reporting
- Infection control practices and PPE use
- Basic charting and documentation
- Clear communication with patients, families, and clinical team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
