Location: Gettysburg, PA

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility
Monitor and record vital signs and observe changes in condition, reporting concerns to the nursing team
Assist with meals and feeding as needed, ensuring dignity and comfort during mealtimes
Maintain a safe and clean environment, following infection control and hygiene protocols
Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts, using safe patient handling techniques
Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team

Qualifications

Active CNA certification (Pennsylvania) required
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Able to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
Previous experience in long-term care or similar clinical setting preferred but not required

Education

High school diploma or GED required
Completion of an approved CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
Familiarity with basic vital sign measurement and documentation
Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
Comfortable with charting and following care plans
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate and comfort residents
