Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and support to residents with dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate effectively with the care team
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Help create a comfortable, respectful environment that promotes resident wellbeing
• Participate in shift handovers to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Alabama
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfort working overnight shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
• Ability to pass standard background checks and required health screenings
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to delivering high-quality care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with resident personal care and ADL assistance
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of infection prevention and resident safety practices
• Good observational skills to notice and report changes in condition
• Teamwork and clear communication with nurses and other care staff
• Familiarity with safe transfer techniques and use of assistive equipment
• Basic charting and documentation skills
