Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the registered Physical Therapist in delivering therapeutic interventions and treatment programs
• Perform routine treatment procedures in alignment with individualized care plans
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and progress to the supervising PT
• Maintain and organize the treatment area to ensure a safe, professional environment
• Direct and guide Physical Therapy Aides during treatments as appropriate under PT supervision
• Communicate patient progress and pertinent findings to physicians in consultation with the supervising PT
• Participate in facility educational activities to continue growing professionally
• Help maintain accurate rehab documentation and records to support quality care

Qualifications

• Active Florida license in the designated therapy profession (required for submission)
• Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Graduation from an approved and accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Demonstrated ability to perform a minimum of minimal assist transfers (able to lift/control 50 lbs)
• Ability to follow facility policies, Medicare and private insurance requirements, and Quality Care Rehab procedures

Education

• Graduation from an approved and accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Therapeutic intervention techniques and routine treatment procedures
• Patient observation, reporting, and progress documentation
• Safe patient lifting, transfer and positioning skills (minimal assist up to 50 lbs)
• Experience directing PT aides and coordinating treatment activities
• Clear communication with physicians, therapists, patients, and care teams
• Familiarity with Medicare and private insurance documentation requirements
• Strong organizational skills to maintain treatment areas and records
