Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve activities of daily living and independence
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and physicians to coordinate comprehensive rehab care
• Document progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home safety, and community resources
• Adapt treatment approaches as patients progress, always aiming for measurable functional gains
• Float to nearby units (including Larkin Chase Center) as staffing needs require

Qualifications

• Current, active Occupational Therapist license in Maryland (required)
• NBCOT certification or eligibility preferred
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfort working in an inpatient/rehab environment and collaborating across disciplines
• Excellent clinical reasoning, documentation, and patient/family education skills
• Willingness to float between assigned facilities as needed

Education

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (or entry-level OTD) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and activity analysis
• Strong assessment and care planning abilities for inpatient rehabilitation patients
• Proficient documentation practices and electronic medical record usage
• Ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams
• Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical staff
