Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive admission assessments for patients coming from the ED
• Complete medication reconciliation and initiate acute care orders promptly
• Provide high-quality MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down care to a diverse patient population
• Monitor telemetry patients to ensure safety and escalate clinical issues as needed
• Collaborate with the care team to enhance patient throughput and reduce length of stay
• Float to other units within your skill set and support the team where needed
• Maintain a positive, teamwork-focused attitude in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) experience
• Experience with Cerner documentation system preferred
• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to consider is appreciated
• Positive attitude with a focus on teamwork
• Ability to float to other units within your skill set
• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state

Knowledge & Skills

• MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) nursing skills
• Proficiency with Cerner EHR and documentation
• Admission assessments, medication reconciliation, and acute care order initiation
• Telemetry monitoring and escalation
• Charge Nurse leadership experience
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
