Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and materials are sterilized and organized
• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, including taking impressions, X-rays, and digital scans
• Educate patients and families on orthodontic care, oral hygiene, and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate patient records and update clinical charts in a timely manner
• Provide a welcoming, comfortable experience for patients of all ages
• Manage orthodontic supplies and equipment to keep the practice running smoothly

Qualifications

• Current Maryland Dental Assistant certification or eligibility required
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience strongly preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• A genuine passion for patient care and a positive, can-do attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and digital imaging
• Familiarity with dental charting software and patient management systems
• Strong attention to detail and infection control protocols
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and team members
