Bill Rate: $52,041.60 - $71,557.20 (Without National Certification); $57,241.60 - $78,707.20 (With National Certification)

Roles & Responsibilities

Scrub during cardiovascular procedures across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure instruments and supplies are ready for CVOR cases
Assist surgeons and the perioperative team by passing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating procedural needs
Function independently within established protocols while collaborating closely with RNs and the surgical team
Perform unit tasks assigned by RNs and document care accurately and professionally
Protect patient confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy in high-stress situations
Utilize computer and keyboarding skills to support perioperative documentation and communication

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with required Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) specialty experience
BCLS certification required
Certification by an approved body such as NBSTSA (CST) or NCCT (TS-C) required/preferred

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)

Knowledge & Skills

Scrub and perioperative care skills with strong sterile technique
Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) specialty knowledge
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills for documentation
Patient confidentiality and professional communication
Sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy when working with patients and surgical teams
Experience caring for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations

Benefits

Sign-on bonus: $15,000.00
Salary negotiable for candidates with significant CVOR specialty experience
