Shift Type: Day shift, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with possible extensions based on case load; rotating weekends and holidays; on-call rotation (one night every 2 weeks, one weekend every 6 weeks)

Candidate Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment for a variety of surgical cases
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during open heart, orthopedic, and general surgeries
• Set up surgical equipment and ensure all instrumentation is ready and functioning before each procedure
• Strictly follow sterile technique and infection prevention protocols throughout every surgery
• Collaborate with the OR team to provide seamless patient care and support fast-paced case turnover
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure coverage for emergency and weekend surgeries

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a busy operating room department
• Active BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• EPIC charting experience is a must
• Willingness to take call and work rotating weekends and holidays
• Strong scrub skills across multiple surgical specialties

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, and sterile techniques
• Familiarity with a wide range of procedures including open heart and orthopedic surgeries
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced OR environment
