Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and compassion
• Monitor and document vital signs, skin condition, and patient comfort during the night shift
• Provide safe transfers and mobility assistance while following facility protocols
• Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the nursing team and report concerns
• Support restful, safe sleep environments and nighttime routines for residents
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and participate in shift handoffs
• Follow infection control practices and facility safety procedures at all times

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in California (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred or required upon hire)
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
• Comfortable working overnight hours and handling physical aspects of resident care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — California

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient-centered care and dignity in assisting with ADLs
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, observing changes, safe transfers
• Infection prevention and proper PPE use
• Clear documentation and timely reporting practices
• Time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
• Compassionate communication with residents and families
