Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality urgent care nursing including assessments and direct patient care
• Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and excellent patient outcomes
• Lead and direct clinic staff when needed to support front desk and patient care workflows
• Maintain medication inventory and supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system
• Perform and oversee point-of-care testing and ensure required quality control checks are completed
• Accurately document all care and services in the electronic record in a timely manner
• Open and close provider clinics and ensure safe, organized clinic environments
• Anticipate provider needs and assist proactively to improve clinical efficiency
• Report equipment issues and safety hazards and escalate unresolved problems to management
• Participate in mandatory training, in-services, and staff meetings to maintain competencies

Qualifications

• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska (required at time of submittal)
• Minimum 2 years of urgent care experience, with experience within the last 2 years preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proof of influenza (flu) vaccination required
• Ability to complete fingerprinting and background checks as required for start
• High level of professionalism, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and perform standard physical job duties

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current Registered Nursing license in Alaska required
• BLS certification required

• Specimen collection and point-of-care testing procedures
• Infection control and safety principles
• Clinical documentation and electronic health record use
• Medication inventory management and basic supply oversight
• Critical thinking, multi-tasking, and problem-solving in a fast-paced setting
• Customer service and effective interpersonal communication
• Familiarity with common medical equipment and computer systems
