Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the emergency setting
- Provide direct patient care including medication administration and wound management
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate timely care
- Perform ongoing patient monitoring, document changes, and escalate concerns
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
- Contribute to a safe and efficient ED by following policies and participating in quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact license if applicable)
- Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous emergency department experience preferred
- Comfort with high-acuity, fast-paced environments and effective team communication
- Current basic certifications and ability to complete facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and patient assessment skills
- Proficient in IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency interventions
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
- Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
