Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Manage advanced life support, including ECMO and mechanical ventilation
• Perform rapid assessments and implement timely interventions for high-acuity patients
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and paper records
• Educate and support families through complex care plans and transitions
• Maintain unit standards for patient ratios and safety during high-demand situations

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to work in Nevada or via Compact where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of PICU or comparable pediatric critical care experience
• Current PALS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Experience with ECMO and ventilator management strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric critical care principles and high-acuity nursing
• ECMO management and troubleshooting
• Mechanical ventilation strategies for pediatric patients
• Proficiency with Meditech and accurate documentation practices
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage 1:2 patient ratios and prioritize care effectively
