Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• Continuously assess and monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall patient condition
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered, adjusting to patient responses
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, specialists, and nurses to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care
• Respond quickly and confidently to emergencies and changes in patient status, prioritizing interventions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois or a compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Previous ICU or critical care nursing experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
• Compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to remain calm under pressure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, ventilators, and critical care equipment
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices in critical care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex patient needs
