Start Date: 04-28-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating shifts (facility schedule); 4-hour orientation session (exact start/end times scheduled by facility)

Candidate Pay Rate: $44 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patients’ respiratory status and respond to changes in condition
Provide evidence-based respiratory treatments and manage ventilator support as needed
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans
Educate patients and families on respiratory therapy techniques and home care plans
Document interventions and patient responses accurately in the medical record
Support safe transfer and discharge planning by coordinating respiratory needs

Qualifications

Active Respiratory Therapist licensure (Missouri licensure preferred or required per state rules)
Credentialed respiratory therapist (CRT or RRT) preferred
BLS required; ACLS or PALS a plus depending on unit needs
Clinical experience in hospital or acute care settings preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-focused environment

Education

Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or accredited Respiratory Care program required; bachelor’s degree a plus

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory equipment
Skill in patient assessment, arterial blood gas interpretation, and oxygen therapy
Comfort working with pediatric and/or adult populations depending on assignment
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond quickly in urgent situations
