Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status with care and precision
Administer respiratory treatments and therapies according to physician orders
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment including ventilators
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the broader care team to deliver coordinated care
Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in the chart
Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use, and prevention strategies
Participate in orientation and team training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Active Respiratory Care license in Missouri (or eligibility to obtain one)
CRT or RRT credential preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS or PALS a plus depending on assignment
Clinical experience in acute care settings preferred (even one year helps!)
Ability to pass background check and drug screen
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient with ventilators, oxygen therapy, and airway management
Knowledge of pulmonary function testing and respiratory diagnostics
Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety standards
Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Critical thinking and quick decision-making in fast-paced clinical situations
