Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and therapies to assigned patients
• Operate, monitor and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment
• Assess patient respiratory status and implement treatment plans effectively
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Accurately document assessments, treatments and patient responses in the medical record
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical competencies
• Adhere to infection control policies and promote patient safety at all times

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license (or eligible) in Missouri or ability to obtain state licensure
• CRT or RRT credential preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS or PALS a plus depending on unit
• Previous clinical respiratory therapy experience preferred (per diem/short-shift experience welcomed)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or completion of an accredited RT program
• Completion of credentialing requirements (CRT/RRT) as applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with ventilator management and oxygen delivery systems
• Patient assessment skills including arterial blood gas interpretation
• Airway management, suctioning and aerosolized medication administration
• Comfortable with EMR documentation and accurate charting
• Infection prevention practices and safe handling of respiratory equipment
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
