Respiratory Therapist - NICU/ER
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Start Date: 08-03-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with weekend and on-call rotation
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert respiratory care to patients across all units, including NICU, ER, and CCU, adapting quickly to diverse clinical needs
- Set up and manage ventilators for neonatal through adult patients, titrating settings to optimize respiratory support
- Administer advanced respiratory therapies such as Nitric Oxide, Flolan, BiPAP, and Bubble CPAP for patients with complex conditions
- Perform EKGs and monitor patient responses, collaborating with the care team to adjust treatment plans as needed
- Float throughout the hospital to deliver skilled respiratory support wherever demand is highest
Qualifications
- You must hold an active CRT or RRT credential to be considered
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required
- At least 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, ideally with ER/CCU, NICU, and Level 2 exposure
- EKG proficiency is a must-have
- You should enjoy variety and feel comfortable working in different units across the hospital
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in ventilator management from neonates to adults
- NICU high-flow nasal cannula and Bubble CPAP
- Nebulized treatments and airway clearance techniques
- Administration of Nitric Oxide and Flolan therapy
- BiPAP setup and monitoring
- EKG acquisition and rhythm interpretation
