Shift Type: Rotating night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; nights with required weekends (every other weekend or approximately 6 weekend shifts per pay period); float to other med-surg units and occasional ED holding pod coverage as needed (night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect and respond to changes in patient status
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments for adult med-surg telemetry patients and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Administer IV fluids, IV antibiotics, tube feeds and PEG feedings safely and according to protocol
• Document care accurately and promptly in Cerner EMR to maintain continuity and quality of care
• Escalate changes in patient acuity to Charge RN, Manager, Rapid Response team, or provider as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, CNAs, and other nurses to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Participate in shift huddles and handoffs to promote communication and unit cohesion
• Practice and maintain required certifications and follow unit and HCA policies, including clock-in/out and meal break procedures

Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina) or compact RN license as applicable
• Minimum 2+ years of recent clinical experience, with telemetry or med-surg experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Proven telemetry rhythm interpretation skills and strong critical thinking
• Solid time management skills and reliable punctuality for shifts
• Experience with Cerner EMR and comfort with documentation workflows
• Comfort administering IV therapy, tube feeds, PEG feedings, and IV antibiotics
