Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and promptly respond to dysrhythmias and alarms
• Start and maintain IVs, manage PICC and central lines, and perform phlebotomy with precision
• Administer medications and follow protocols including heparin, PCA, and insulin drips
• Provide clear patient education and compassionate bedside care for progressive care/post-surgical patients
• Collaborate with Rapid Response/Code teams and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient outcomes
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain thorough clinical records
• Perform wound care, manage drains, and adhere to isolation precautions/PPE standards
• Support unit flow and patient needs across MS/Tele and Progressive Care settings

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• BLS and IV certification required
• EPIC experience required
• ACLS preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Proven experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Ability to float to other areas as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring (unit-based and remote) and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• IV therapy: starting/maintaining IVs, PICC and central line care
• Phlebotomy and blood product administration
• Medication administration and protocol-driven therapies (heparin, PCA, insulin titration)
• Use of EPIC for charting and documentation
• Rapid response and emergency team utilization
• Isolation precautions, wound care, and management of post-surgical patients
• Non-invasive airway management and oxygen therapy
