Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using fetal monitoring and clinical assessment
• Manage labor progression and intervene appropriately to support safe deliveries
• Assist with vaginal and operative deliveries, preparing equipment and supporting the team
• Perform cervical exams within scope and accurately document findings
• Administer medications safely and according to orders and protocols
• Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and participate in team resuscitation efforts
• Provide compassionate postpartum education and emotional support to families
• Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN license (required)
• Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Clinical experience in Labor & Delivery required
• Skills in fetal monitoring interpretation, cervical exams, medication administration
• Comfort assisting with operative deliveries and responding to obstetric emergencies
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to support families emotionally

• Maternal and fetal monitoring and fetal heart strip interpretation
• Labor progression management and intrapartum care
• Cervical examination technique and documentation
• Medication administration and IV management in obstetrics
• Operative delivery preparation and assistance
• Postpartum education and newborn transition basics
• Effective patient communication and family-centered care
• Obstetric emergency response and team-based resuscitation
