Roles & Responsibilities

• Guide and support oncology patients through their treatment journeys as a trusted navigator
• Manage and maintain individualized care plans to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Coordinate multidisciplinary communication between oncology teams, physicians, and support services
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, symptom management, and resources
• Monitor treatment progress and side effects, escalating oncologic emergencies when needed
• Document encounters and care actions accurately and promptly in EPIC
• Facilitate referrals, follow-up appointments, and community resource connections
• Provide compassionate symptom management and patient advocacy throughout treatment

Qualifications

• Active RN license (pending state license is not accepted for this role)
• ONCC or ONS certification required
• 3 years oncology nursing experience preferred (2 years will be screened)
• BLS certification required
• Experience with EPIC charting required
• Ability to commit to a 26-week assignment (locals accepted)

Knowledge & Skills

• Chemotherapy administration (including continuous and oral chemotherapy)
• IV therapy and infusion management
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Port care and central/implanted line management
• Recognition and management of oncologic emergencies (e.g., TLS, extravasation, sepsis)
• Neutropenic precautions and infection prevention
• Chest tube care and symptom management (nausea, neuropathy, edema, etc.)
• Patient navigation and care plan coordination
• EPIC electronic charting proficiency
