Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for Med/Surg and Orthopedics & Spine patients
• Monitor patients on telemetry and respond promptly to changes in clinical status
• Perform wound care and dressing changes with attention to infection control and healing
• Safely manage traction, external fixators and other orthopedic equipment
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including PT/OT, respiratory and radiology to coordinate patient care
• Use secure communication tools like iMobile (Mobile Heartbeat) to streamline team communication and protect patient privacy
• Support patient safety through use of bed alarms, gait belts and continuous pulse oximetry

Qualifications

• Active Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 2 years acute care hospital experience on Med/Surg or Tele units
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and wound care/dressing changes
• Comfortable caring for orthopedic patients and working with traction/external fixators
• NIH certification and experience with iMobile (Mobile Heartbeat) are preferred

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Med/Surg nursing principles and patient assessment
• Orthopedics & Spine care basics including traction and external fixation
• Wound care techniques and dressing changes
• Proficient documentation in Meditech EMR
• Effective team communication using secure mobile platforms (iMobile/Mobile Heartbeat)
• Use of bed alarms, gait belts and continuous pulse oximetry for patient safety
