Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients with cardiac conditions like CHF, MI, arrhythmias, and post-procedure recovery
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect changes early
• Administer and titrate cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, etc.) with precision
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of nurses, PCTs, and charge nurses in a fast-paced cardiac stepdown unit
• Perform bedside cardioversion and assist with other cardiac procedures as needed
• Educate patients and families on heart health and recovery plans

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown or progressive care experience
• Telemetry monitoring experience with strong rhythm interpretation skills
• Experience with titratable cardiac IV medications like nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
• Flexible, positive attitude with a passion for teamwork and patient advocacy
• Preferred: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) or relief charge experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cardiac care, telemetry monitoring, and IV therapy
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and unit equipment (Zoll pumps, Baxter pumps, bladder scanners)
• Ability to float to MedSurg, Stepdown, COVID, and ER holding units as needed
• Compassionate communication and patient education skills
• Adaptability to work in a high-acuity, team-oriented environment
