Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: RN - Pre-op (Peds), 4-hour shifts, schedule varies (orientation required)
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate pre-operative care tailored to pediatric patients
- Perform focused assessments and prepare children for surgery
- Administer medications and follow pre-op protocols accurately
- Educate families with clear, kind explanations to reduce stress
- Collaborate with perioperative team members for smooth handoffs
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient status thoroughly
- Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain high standards
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; Missouri license or compact preferred
- Experience or training in pre-operative pediatric nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; pediatric certifications preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical preparation environment
- Strong communication skills for partnering with families and care teams
- Ability to work scheduled 4-hour pre-op shifts and attend orientation
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of pre-operative assessment and pediatric care principles
- Skill in patient and family education with age-appropriate communication
- Familiarity with medication administration and safety checks
- Ability to follow surgical checklists and perioperative protocols
- Competence in vital sign monitoring and pediatric assessment
- Teamwork and collaboration within surgical and perioperative settings
