Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality pre-operative nursing care to pediatric patients and their families
• Assess and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring all necessary documentation and protocols are followed
• Collaborate with the surgical team to promote safe and efficient patient flow
• Educate patients and families on pre-op procedures and post-operative expectations
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with all care team members

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of pre-operative or perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of pre-operative nursing protocols and best practices
• Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Skill in using electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Commitment to providing family-centered care
