Registered Nurse - PICU (Per Diem)
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Start Date: 08-09-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Flexible 12-hour shifts (days/nights) based on unit needs; per diem scheduling
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage complex medical equipment
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and adjust individualized care plans
- Educate and support families through challenging and emotional moments
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
- Respond quickly and confidently to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- PICU experience strongly preferred; pediatric critical care experience a plus
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Ability to provide safe, attentive care during 12-hour shifts
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of pediatric assessment and critical care principles
- Proficiency with ventilators, IV pumps, cardiac monitors, and other PICU equipment
- Excellent clinical judgment, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with children and families
- Experience documenting in electronic health records (EHR)
