Shift Type: Rotating shifts including weekends; shift times include 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 12-hour primary shifts with every other weekend and self-scheduling (day & night coverage)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for adults on a mixed PCU/MedSurg/Oncology unit
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor hemodynamic status using CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000 and other monitors
• Administer and titrate IV drips per protocol (including insulin and cardizem) and manage Alaris IV pump use
• Support oncology patients through chemotherapy administration when certified and follow oncology-specific protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members — PT/OT, social work, case management, dietician and educators — to coordinate care
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC and participate in hourly rounding for patient experience
• Respond to critical situations per unit crisis protocol and complete required orientation/pass-fail competency assessments

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of practice) required for submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PCU/MedSurg/Oncology or stepdown experience preferred)
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA); NIHSS required; ONS/ONCC required or highly preferred
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring is a strong plus
• EPIC experience preferred (EPIC within 6 months noted for orientation readiness)
• Driver's license required at time of submittal and must meet radius rule restrictions
• Ability to pass orientation open-book skills exam with a minimum score as required by the facility

Education

• Nursing degree required (ADN/ASN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of PCU/stepdown and oncology patient care
• Hemodynamic monitoring: CVP, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, EV-1000
• Ventilator care and competence with respiratory support
• IV pump management (Alaris) and safe medication administration
• Chemotherapy familiarity and safe handling procedures (if certified)
• Drip titration experience (insulin, cardizem) and familiarity with common drips like heparin and protonix
• Proficient charting in EPIC and solid documentation practices
• Teamwork, effective communication and patient-focused bedside manner
