Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to PCU patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and rapidly recognize changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Perform thorough assessments and create clear, actionable care plans
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate timely interventions
• Educate patients and families about condition management and discharge planning
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TX or compact), required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or acute care nursing experience, required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, required
• Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and providing high-acuity nursing care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Cardiac patient assessment and early recognition of deterioration
• IV medication administration and titration
• Comprehensive patient assessment and care planning
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary teams
• Clear and accurate EHR documentation and care coordination
