Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert telemetry monitoring and timely EKG interpretation to keep patients safe
• Manage post-percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) care with confidence
• Administer and titrate cardiac and anti-arrhythmic IV infusions per protocol
• Assess and manage patients on CPAP and BiPAP, ensuring respiratory stability
• Perform port access, therapeutic phlebotomy, and assist with procedures as needed
• Support wound care including Wound VACs, drain care, chest tube and NG tube management
• Conduct post-dialysis assessments, central line care, and blood transfusion monitoring
• Document care accurately in Meditech Expanse and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (compact license accepted if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care or ICU experience (strong PCU background preferred)
• Proven telemetry and EKG interpretation skills; post-PCI experience required
• Experience managing cardiac and anti-arrhythmic IV infusions and titration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale certification current (annual)
• Comfort with 12-hour shifts, night schedule, and occasional floating

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and GE Apex Pro telemetry box familiarity
• EKG strip recognition and rapid clinical decision-making
• Cardiac medication and infusion management, including titration strategies
• CPAP and BiPAP setup and troubleshooting
• Central line care, blood transfusion procedures, and post-dialysis assessment
• Wound VAC, drain and chest tube management basics
• Documentation proficiency in Meditech Expanse and strong interdisciplinary communication
