Shift Type: Rotating shifts: 8-hour, 10-hour and 12-hour shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights), including weekends and holidays. Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert post-anesthesia care for patients in Phase I and Phase II recovery
• Assess and monitor patients' vital signs, incision sites, temperature and overall stability
• Apply advanced anesthesiology knowledge to manage airways, pain control and emergence from anesthesia
• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia and multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless perioperative care
• Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as Meditech, PCA pumps, Pyxis, IV pumps and monitors
• Respond quickly to complications, escalating care and initiating interventions when needed
• Document patient status and interventions clearly to ensure continuity of care and safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Hawaii required by start of assignment
• Minimum: 2+ years as a critical care RN (ER or ICU experience may substitute for PACU experience)
• Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association required
• PALS recommended and may be required for certain assignments
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred and may be required for specific roles
• Proof of annual flu vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption prior to contract start
• Comfortable working variable shifts, weekends, nights and occasional on-call

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong post-anesthesia care (PACU) and critical care nursing knowledge
• Advanced understanding of anesthesiology principles and perioperative patient management
• Skilled in patient monitoring, assessment and early recognition of complications
• Experience with Meditech electronic health record and common unit devices
• Competency with PCA pumps, Pyxis systems, Braun IV pumps, SCDs, Bair Paws warmers and bedside monitors
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication and teamwork in a fast-paced surgical environment
