Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Variable day shifts, 36 hours per week guaranteed, no weekends, on-call 1 shift per month if needed

Hours per Week: 60

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for surgical patients before, during, and after surgery
Create and maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment
Provide pre- and post-operative patient education and monitor physical and emotional well-being
Integrate and coordinate patient care throughout the surgical care continuum
Primarily circulate, with scrub experience as an additional asset
Deliver expert care in vascular and orthopedic surgeries
Care for patients ranging from pediatric to adult in a 14-room OR

Qualifications

2+ years of current OR experience required
Float experience in vascular, ortho, trauma, gen surg, Robot, urology, and ENT
Travel experience required
EPIC experience required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Scrub and circulate experience required
Must have own vehicle
Valid New York state nursing license or temporary license
New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License required

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and teams
Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records
Expertise in vascular and orthopedic surgeries
Comfortable floating across multiple surgical specialties
