Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside neonatal care including physical assessments and thermoregulation
• Manage ventilator and respiratory support in collaboration with RT
• Safely administer and titrate medications, manage IV therapy and TPN
• Operate and troubleshoot feeding pumps, IV pumps and medication pumps
• Perform accurate documentation in Meditech and Centricity Perinatal (CPN)
• Care for a variety of acuity levels with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1
• Support families with compassionate communication and education
• Prioritize and manage time effectively when assigned up to four patients

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in Texas or obtain required state authorization)
• Minimum 1 year of NICU nursing experience (as listed in the job details)
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification — required
• Demonstrated competence in ventilator management, IV/infusion and feeding pump management
• Comfort with medication administration and titration in a neonatal setting
• Strong teamwork, punctuality, and openness to feedback

Education

• Active RN license (degree level not specified in posting; ADN/BSN acceptable as long as RN license is current)

Knowledge & Skills

• NICU nursing best practices and neonatal physical assessment
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) protocols
• Ventilator/respiratory support and collaboration with respiratory therapy
• IV/infusion management, TPN and complex fluid management
• Feeding pump operation and Infant Driven Feeding principles
• Medication administration and titration
• Electronic charting in Meditech and Centricity Perinatal (CPN)
• Time management for higher-acuity assignments and variable patient ratios
