Shift Type: Day Shift, 12-hour shifts, 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates in our Level III NICU
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for infants from premature to full-term
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and operate advanced neonatal equipment
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and nurse practitioners
  • Educate and support families during their NICU journey, promoting bonding and involvement
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records using Cerner EMR
  • Act as a patient advocate and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (North Carolina or compact)
  • NRP certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of Level III or higher NICU experience
  • STABLE and NIC-RNC certification preferred
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a strong team player

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for high-acuity neonatal care
  • Proficiency in Cerner EMR documentation
  • Knowledge of neonatal resuscitation and stabilization techniques
  • Ability to manage patient ratios up to 1:4 in a Level III NICU
  • Excellent communication skills for family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Flexibility to float to Peds, PICU, and Mother Baby as needed
