Registered Nurse - NICU
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Start Date: 09-21-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, family-centered care to critically ill neonates in a 51-bed Level III NICU
- Collaborate with neonatologists, nurse practitioners, and respiratory therapists to deliver comprehensive care
- Administer medications, perform detailed assessments, and monitor vital signs with precision
- Educate and support families during their NICU journey with compassion and clarity
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner to ensure seamless communication across the care team
- Adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and promote a culture of safety and excellence
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (or ability to obtain before start)
- NRP certification is required
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience strongly preferred
- Stable and NIC-RNC certifications are a plus
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in neonatal assessment, ventilation, and resuscitation
- Understanding of developmental care and family-centered NICU practices
- Proficiency in electronic charting and medication administration
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
