Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care on the MST unit using best practices
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to keep patients safe and stable
• Administer medications and IV therapies accurately and on time
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record promptly
• Respond calmly and effectively to urgent changes in patient condition
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (California RN or compact RN where applicable)
• MST experience or recent med-surg/telemetry experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS preferred or required per unit
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, IVs, and common med-surg interventions
• Strong clinical assessment and prioritization skills with excellent communication
• Ability to work independently on per-diem shifts and integrate into established teams quickly

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Patient assessment and care planning
• Charting and documentation in electronic health records
• Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Ability to triage and escalate concerns appropriately
