Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
• Assess patients frequently and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses in the EHR
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate when necessary
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state licensure required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; PALS or pediatric certifications preferred
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing with exposure to pediatric patients preferred
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Willingness to complete required orientation and facility onboarding

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Pediatric care knowledge and age-appropriate communication techniques
• Familiarity with Med/Surg patient needs and post-op care
• Proficient documentation and charting practices
• Infection control and safety best practices
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Teamwork, adaptability, and patient-family education skills
