Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality Med/Surg nursing care with a focus on pediatric patients
- Assess patient condition, monitor vital signs, and communicate changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and follow care plans
- Deliver compassionate patient and family education tailored to pediatric needs
- Participate in orientation activities and support a positive unit culture
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible to practice in Missouri
- Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing and caring for pediatric patients
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
- Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to complete required orientation and credentialing prior to start
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and pediatric care
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Patient assessment and early recognition of clinical changes
- Comfortable working with electronic medical records and standard hospital workflows
- Strong communication, family-centered care approach, and teamwork
