Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surg pediatric patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate excellent care
- Document patient conditions and interventions clearly in the medical record
- Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain high standards of care
- Support family education and communication to promote positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice in Missouri required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Experience or familiarity with Med/Surg nursing and pediatric patient care
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a team
- Ability to complete facility orientation and required onboarding
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid assessment and care-planning skills for Med/Surg and pediatric patients
- Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
- Accurate clinical documentation and charting
- Infection control and safety best practices
- Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Time management and prioritization in a busy unit
