Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour shifts, schedule to be determined; orientation included; Med/Surg (Pediatrics)

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg pediatric unit
Monitor and assess pediatric patients, recognizing changes in condition and escalating appropriately
Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and discharge needs
Participate in orientation, unit training, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice in Missouri required
Experience or training in Med/Surg and pediatric nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; pediatric certifications preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with families

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Active RN license in good standing

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
Medication administration and IV therapy competencies
Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Infection control practices and patient safety focus
Excellent patient and family communication skills
