Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care for med/surg pediatric patients
• Assess patients frequently and update care plans to reflect changing needs
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Respond to emergencies calmly and effectively, prioritizing patient safety
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and handoffs to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact RN license where applicable
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Pediatrics experience and Med/Surg experience — demonstrated clinical competence
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with patients, families and staff
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or willingness to obtain

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles
• Pediatric patient assessment and family-centered care techniques
• Medication administration, IV therapy and safe documentation practices
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients effectively
• Critical thinking and clinical judgment in fast-paced environments
• Team collaboration and clear communication with interdisciplinary staff
